Step by step
1. Describe your request
Give the address, roof section and problem or planned improvement. Take photos only from a safe place and mention previous work. Do not climb onto the roof.
2. Agree on the inspection
Discuss the questions to investigate, access arrangements and any inspection fees. A visual inspection cannot assess every concealed component.
3. Review the proposal
Check materials, preparation, access and finishing. Ask what is included and how unexpected findings and extra work will be approved.
4. Prepare the work
Choose a contact person and agree on access, building use and coordination with installers. Discuss how weather-related changes will be communicated.
5. Review completion
Compare the completed work with the agreed scope. Request relevant photos, product information and maintenance instructions. Record outstanding items and next steps.
6. Arrange aftercare
Keep the records together. Ask how to report a concern and which warranty and maintenance terms apply. Discuss a tailored maintenance proposal if useful.
An active leak
Call to discuss the situation. A form does not book an emergency visit. Keep away from wet electrical equipment and sagging ceilings. Contact emergency services if there is immediate danger.
Responsibilities
Confirm who arranges access, authorises the work and approves changes. This is particularly important for shared buildings and rental properties.
